Surviving COVID-19 Gym Lockout w/ Legion Sports

A goal here at Legion Sports is to inspire those around us with action and leadership.

We are about 14 days into the great gym lockout of 2020. Don't panic. We are here to share the importance of keeping vigilant, consistent and focused with your workouts in your living room, so that when you get back in the gym - it's business as usual.

Let's be honest. Home workouts are less than entertaining. We don't do them because they are fun, we do them because we all share a common goal, to WIN every single day.

Staying physically active has been proven to keep your immune system working effectively and efficiently - which is especially important during these times. As well as physical benefits, this is also a great way to cope with being cooped up during the government regulated quarantine.

I'm going to share a few workouts that I've found to be quite helpful while being home the last couple of weeks. 

The first workout is focused a lot on movement and to get the blood pumping. I like to this one after my morning walk because I've already been moving for a while. Pro-tip: don't get comfortable after a walk. Don't sit down, don't relax. If you know you want to work out, get right to it. That way, you know you're getting your work in.

I would start out with doing two rounds at first. I happen to have 2-25lb dumbbells to work my curls with. I've seen people online use things like full laundry detergent bottles, full duffel bags - pretty much anything that is heavy or that you can add weight to can replace the use of dumbbells for any strength exercises.

The next workout is more strength based and was given to me by a good friend of Legion Sports, @fit_nesian (check her out on IG, she's a power-lifting superwoman)

10 x Russian Dead Lifts
10 x Overhead Push Presses

Do these for 3 sets, or until you hit 30 of each. It's going to get tough around the middle of the second set, but just keep going!
